Diva Diva kicks off our weekend with a stack of club reliables within the queer house and bass music worlds. Pittsburgh’s Honcho headlines The Sound Room. The trio and their festival have become a beacon for the new American wave of queer underground clubbing, where loud, sleazy after-hours slide effortlessly between house and techno, sharing threads of heavy kicks, funk, and a slathering of the psychedelic. Buffalo’s Mutualiusm adds her love for uplifting melodies and powerful percussion. Things get raunchy in The Atrium with Lis Dalton, DJPT, and NSA at the steering wheel. Dalton’s hedonistic house is masked by flawless mixing and heady atmospheres, while Brooklyn’s DJPT and Atlanta’s NSA give us a lesson on club fiercity via relentless percussion and system-shaking low-end. UPSTAIRS, DAD SF resident Mondo Nexus empties his balearic house and disco bag. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
