It is written in no text that we have recovered, yet the scholars agree: the first rave was also the first civilization. Before the granary and the written law…even before god had been given a name, there was the floor, and the bodies on it, and the rhythm that made both floor and body one. MESOPOTAMIA is no mere nocturnal recreation…it’s proof that it never ended. Something older than you arrives when the music does. We summon a force that was already there…waiting in the body, in the place beneath language where we hoard our primal memories. The floor opens and you go down. From the pyramid, straight into the dancing necropolis. The altar is open. DJ EL holds the room from open to close for an all-night, unforgettable 6 hour set. Our hosts presiding over the rite: DVVSK, Noise Pup, and KEENE…high priests of the floor. The arc moves through dark disco, proto-house/queer house, acid, techno. The set is a labyrinth with no false exits, only deepening. Those who enter looking for the way out will not find it. Those who stop looking will discover they no longer need it. MESOPOTAMIA is queer-centered: born of a lineage that built the floor when every other room was closed to it. A lineage that understood sanctuary before the word existed and that has been practicing this particular form of communion longer and with more devotion than anywhere else. Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, or discrimination of any kind. This space runs on consent, mutual care, and a reverence for the dance that predates all of us.
