A resident at Public Records and founder of the long-running Jazzystan Music Festival, Rustam’s approach is rooted in discovery. Born in Kazakhstan and shaped by years of producing festivals, radio, and events across borders, his sound carries a wide lens pulling from deep house, jazz, rare grooves, and rhythm-forward selections from around the world. He’s played everywhere from Tokyo to Paris to Central Park SummerStage, sharing lineups with artists like Jamiroquai, Gilles Peterson, and Jazzanova, while building one of Central Asia’s most important music festivals from the ground up. Now based in Brooklyn, he moves fluidly between underground rooms, radio, and global stages, with a sound shaped by 25+ years behind the decks.
