About
A live spatial audio performance driven by Quivr, a new real-time platform for spatial sound. Synthesized and recorded sources move through virtual space, producing evolving sonic textures rendered through Reforesters' 24.2-channel 3rd-order ambisonic speaker array. This session features original works and ambient recordings by Jake Araujo-Simon, alongside the second movement of Gavriel Loria's Hypnosis, spatialized via algorithms designed for the platform. A limited number of remote listeners can join the performance online, hearing the soundfield rendered binaurally from their own positions within the virtual space. --- Jake Araujo-Simon is a musician and researcher working in spatial sound and audio signal processing. He studied composition under Anthony Cheung and piano under Ning Yu, and has presented theoretical work on categorical signal processing at University College London and the CUNY Graduate Center. He is the creator of Quivr. Gavriel Loria is a composer and pianist who studied piano under Taka Kigawa and has been composing since he was eight years old.
