Connor’s eight-track release late last year on Rene Wise’s Moving Pressure showcases many of the elements we love in hypnotic, groovy techno: organic, inquisitive texture punctuated by rhythmic clicks, introspective beeps, and echoing percussion in the distance — all dancing atop galloping, propulsive kicks. Balanced in depth and drive, each track compels closed-eye listening or full-body motion. And many repeat plays. MILANA is the solo project of SF-based DJ, producer, promoter, and visual artist Milana Vachuska. MILANA fuses elements of freetek, trance, deep techno, and IDM to create the psychedelic grooves that define her sound. In addition to music, MILANA works with fellow artist and collaborator Anne Trinh on The Void, a curatorial project characterized by cozy, surreal environments installed in unique event spaces. Pup_Epoch creates sensual rhythm, spinning groove-forward techno with entrancing house and acid overlays. Hailing from Oakland, he’s played in clubs and festivals across California, Australia, and most recently Vietnam. — Space Three is a queer techno party grounded in three ideas: 1) We take our time. We curate deep, groovy sets that invite both movement and reflection, guided by patient shifts in momentum and feeling. 2) The best party is a queer party. With deeply queer roots, we develop spaces that protect the presence and expression of all genders and orientations. 3) This is a shared experience. We aim to create events that leave us fuller and more connected, with ourselves and each other.
