Summer Soundsystem Series - Reggae Under The Bridge

The Summer Soundsystem Series 2026 kicks off on June 14th with Reggae Under The Bridge at Brooklyn’s Under The K Bridge Park, then continues on July 19th before going to the Coney Island Boardwalk at West 20th on Sat. August 8th; and Rockaway Beach Amphitheater at Beach 94th on Sun., Sept 6th. The series closes back at K Bridge Park on September 20th. Events run from 2-6 p.m. at Coney Island and Rockaway Beach and 2-7 p.m. at the K Bridge. All events are free with voluntary donations. With support from the Brooklyn Arts Council and partnerships with the North Brooklyn Parks Alliance and the Office of the Queens Borough President, these events serve thousands of New Yorkers and visitors every year, celebrating the foundations of Jamaican soundsystem culture and reggae music, as well as vinyl DJ culture. Dozens of selectors participate each year, including veterans and new generations. The events have attracted icons including King Jammy, Downbeat The Ruler, Jah Wise, LP International, and Jack Scorpio, and performers such as Luciano, Johnny Osbourne, Willi Williams, Carlton Livingston, Brigadier Jerry, Sister Carol, Al Campbell, Mikey Jarrett, Ranking Joe, and Ras Shiloh. Powered by Chanter The Timeless Sound and the Small Axe. The series grew from organizer Carter Van Pelt’s original Reggae On The Beach concept in 2010, also known as Reggae On The Boardwalk. Rebranded as the Summer Soundsystem Series after the pandemic, it has grown to become a much anticipated highlight of New York City’s myriad free summer arts and cultural offerings.
